This cultural association, cooperative and community places in the high side of Torri, a little inner village 10 km. from Ventimiglia, near the French border. It´s a group of buildings of the 8th century, that have been progressively restored and reinhabitated since 1989 by people from Italy and Germany. Nowadays 16 people up to forty-odd years old and several children live there.

The main activities are restoring the 160 rooms, respecting the local materials and original shapes, and managing the guesthouse and restaurant. Besides, they work with the garden, pottery, yoga, social-cultural activities, goat cheese, olive oil, natural soap…

It´s one of the founders of the Italian Network Ecovillages-RIVE and member of the Global Ecovillages Network-GEN, which the main office of GEN-Europe was located there from 1999 to 2003. They also organize courses related with consensus decision-making, ecovillage creation, sustainability, ecotourism and permaculture, being also a founder member of the Italian Academy of Permaculture. Apart from the international volunteer workcamps in collaboration with Legambiente, they welcome individual volunteers. Thus, after years proposing work in exchange for lodging and food, when I was the conditions were a blend between volunteer and holidays, working 4 hours and paying 15€ per day (ask conditions for stays of several weeks).

There is public phone and internet access. They speak Italian, German, English, French, Dutch and one of them Castilian-Spanish. There are a few goats, chickens, cats and a dog. Finally, the meals are mostly organic and local, Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine. Pasta, pasta, pasta! Ñam, ñam, ñam!
